Full Time Hafiz Quran and Alim course

The Institute of Islamic Education (IIE) was established in 1989 in Elgin, IL. It is an independent, non-profit, full-time educational Institution aimed at providing its students with an education in the sacred and intellectual foundations of Islamic heritage. We have grown from our humble origins and now educating brothers and sisters on two separate campuses.

We offer two full-time programs; The Hifdh Ul-Qur’an Program and the Alim Program for boys and girls. IIE follows a classical method of instruction, emphasizing on close teacher-student interaction, and focusing on textual transmission and analysis. The Institute also offers weekend and evening programs for part-time learners.

We understand from Hadith that knowledge will be lifted from the earth by the death of true scholars and the ignorant will lead the masses as we get close to the end of times. We are indebted to those before us who have preserved this knowledge for us. Now it is our turn to carry this responsibility to propagate this knowledge and uphold our legacy of Islamic scholarship. This is the mission of IIE, a mission that is truly needed for the growing Muslim communities across the United States.

Hifz – Quran Memorization Course

The Hifdh Ul-Qur’an Program is a pre-secondary and secondary program designed to help its students to memorize the entire Noble Qur’an. The Hifdh Ul-Quran Program, previously restricted to only Qur’anic memorization, is now integrated with the standard curriculum offered in middle and high schools through an online virtual school.

Alhamdullillah, with the blessings of Allah, we have produced more than 200 Huffadh since the school was established in 1989. Most graduating Huffadh go on to lead Ramadan prayers and teach Qur’an in their local mosques and schools.

Not only do our students have their daily Quran classes, but we also provide extracurricular classes on fundamental Islamic education, ethics, and advanced tajweed.

Alim Course

For as long as one can remember, studying the higher Islamic sciences meant spending many long years abroad in a country far away. Discouraged by the problems associated with travel and study outside of the United States, many young and motivated seekers of knowledge were long deprived of authentic sources of Islamic learning.

IIE prides itself upon providing the exact same educational quality found over seas. Our highly qualified teachers, from all around the globe, have dedicated their lives towards safeguarding the knowledge of Islam. By the grace of Allah, this knowledge will remain intact for generations to come by the conveyance of this knowledge from teacher to student, heart to heart, in an ever continuous cycle.

Our course is intensively packed into six rigorous years. Students will cover all of the required subjects of a full-time Islamic studies Shari‘ah course without sacrificing or omitting any core material. After the completion of the course the student will be authorized by the senior sheikh of the institute that he is qualified in the various Islamic sciences, by means of an ijazah. This ijazah links the student from his teacher to his teacher all the way up to the Prophet in a chain which has been authentically documented.

Our Alim Program is a six-year, post-secondary program designed to train its students in the classical foundations of the Islamic sciences. The course is based on a traditional curriculum of study, covering a wide array of subjects such as:

·         Arabic Grammar (Syntax and Morphology)
·         Arabic Literature (Speech, Composition, and Rhetoric)
·         Logic (Mantiq)
·         Islamic Theology (‘Aqidah)
·         Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh)
·         Fiqh (Jurisprudence)
·         ‘Ulum al-Hadith (Sciences of Hadith Interpretation)
·         Hadith (Prophetic Traditions)
·         Usul al-Tafsir (Principles of Exegesis)
·         Tafsir al-Quran (Exegesis)
·         Sirah (Prophetic Biography)
